The treatment begins with the application of a topical numbing cream to the treatment area to minimize treatment discomfort.
MIRIA™ by AVAVA™ treatments take between 15 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area and the treatment settings.
Treatment regimen is customized to the individual patient, though most patients receive a series of 2-3 treatments. These sessions are typically spaced about a month apart.
MIRIA™ by AVAVA™ is often used as a standalone treatment.
Due to numerous factors, MIRIA™ by AVAVA™ is the most comfortable nonablative resurfacing device available. Unlike legacy lasers, the MIRIA’s proprietary Focal Point Technology™, avoids excessive heat buildup at the surface of the skin, leading to less intense heat during the treatment. Additionally, the device has a first-of-its-kind built-in sapphire contact cooled tip that operates at -10C, which is markedly colder than any other device on the market. This will cool the skin throughout the treatment and while you may still experience some heat, these two features combined with topical numbing cream keeps most patients comfortable during the procedure.
Most patients will see skin improvement in their superficial epidermis within a week to two weeks after treatment. For deeper treatments, final results may take months as collagen and elastin, the building blocks of healthy vibrant skin undergo remodeling.
MIRIA™ requires little to no recovery time. Following treatment, patients may experience mild redness, swelling, or tenderness along the treatment areas that typically resolve on their own within 24-72 hours.
